The new expansion stage of Lichtenberg II will be extended this year by accelerator nodes from NVIDIA. These so-called “turbo processors” are particularly suitable for artificial intelligence applications, e.g. deep learning and machine learning, but also for other massively parallel applications. The 16 already existing V100 GPUs (Graphic Processing Units) will be supplemented by another 16 A100 GPUs. In addition, three high-performance “DGX A100” systems will be procured for the AI workloads. The systems are expected to be operational in early 2021.
