Effective protection against Trojans

550 reports of Trojans infiltrating TU Darmstadt's end devices. That's how many reports the TUDa-CERT team received in the past six months alone.

Since June 2020, an active mechanism for protecting IT systems has prevented the establishment of connections to known so-called command-and-control servers (C&C servers). This is a central computer that sends commands to a so-called botnet and then receives the returned reports from the selected computers.

Every time a computer is blocked, a corresponding report is sent to TUDa-CERT. Although this provides the TU Darmstadt computer system with better protection against attacks, it is no substitute for additional measures.

Therefore, always make sure that you have an up-to-date software version and virus protection on your system.
