Virtual applications: Digital solutions for modern work

News from the HRZ project ELVIS

Location-independent working is becoming increasingly important in today's professional life. The HRZ project ELVIS develops digital solutions that support and complement working in the traditional office.

Developing solutions for VDI-based services: This is the full name of the project launched by the HRZ last July with the catchy abbreviation “ELVIS”.

The four-member project team led by project manager Florian Plath has set itself the task of being able to offer the TU Darmstadt virtual desktops and applications on the basis of a VDI system (VDI=Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) in the future. After the project is completed, the service will be offered as a standard service under the name “vDesk” (virtual desktop).

You can find out more about the project on our project pages. For all those interested in the project, we also provide regular detailed information on milestones and timings here.
