As far as practicable, this power outage will be confined to the “normal power” only, ie. the non-UPS circuits.

We expect the maintenance to last the whole day. Therefore, we plan to bring the cluster back online only the following day.

Plan

Since the last electrical short, the main power rail has been made operative again only with a reduced length, cutting off expansion stage 2 of the Lichtenberg (LB2A2).

The power rail will be provisionally extended using existing modules, and stressed components will proactively be replaced.

After this first repair, we hope to be able to bring up LB2A2 again, even if the power rail will not be in its original state as before the short.

Your batch jobs

You do not need to do anything with respect to your (running or pending) batch jobs.

The scheduler knows about the downtime and will

• start pending jobs only if these will be safely finished before the downtime
  and
• hold all others until after the downtime and recommencing of the normal scheduling.
