The Moodle course „AI Fundamentals for university practice“ teaches staff and students at TU Darmstadt how to use generative AI tools effectively and responsibly in everyday university life.

Artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly important in everyday university life – whether in study, teaching, research or administration. To support staff and students at TU Darmstadt in the competent and responsible use of AI tools, the Digital Transformation Office (DTO), the HRZ and the Human Resources and Organisational Development team have jointly developed the course „AI Fundamentals for university practice“. The course was developed by KI-Campus in consultation with all universities in Hesse.
The course is currently available to staff; it will be made available to students shortly.

This Moodle course provides a solid grounding in the subject of artificial intelligence. In six modules that build on one another but can also be taken in any order, participants will learn:

  • the fundamentals of artificial intelligence,
  • how to use generative AI – Prompting 101,
  • how to use generative AI and language models responsibly and
  • possible applications in a higher education context.
