Moodle – OpenLearnWare – Mahara

To support e-learning at TU Darmstadt, the University's IT-Service and its Computing Centre (HRZ) cooperate with the Centre for Educational Development (HDA). Together they operate the internal learning platform Moodle, the online platform OpenLearnWare, for free access to study materials, and also the e-portfolio system Mahara.

Three e-learning platforms, three utilization scenarios…

Moodle

  • a central and password-protected location for digital learning material from courses
  • courses provided by instructors for closed student groups

Mahara

  • an e-portfolio system (digital folders), e.g. for digital competence profiles (education, skills, goals, etc.)
  • documentation, reflection and feedback on learning processes

OpenLearnWare

  • an online platform for free access to and exchange of digital learning material from courses for interested parties
  • visibility of teaching

Further tools for the use of digital media in teaching and learning at the TU Darmstadt can be found on the websites of the e-learning working group.
