Workplace and workplace support

HRZ offers various services for your workplace, such as telephone, hardware and software, as well as IT workplace support and other support and consulting services.

In order to be able to use the university network, your computer must be properly registered with the network and, if necessary, access to the institute's storage space and mail server must be set up. To make possible transfers as easy as possible, you can find all the information you need to move IT areas in case your office is relocated here.

Find relevant information here if, for example, you want to apply for a new telephone, if you want to change your entry in the TU-wide telephone book, or if you want to terminate a connection.

Employees of TU Darmstadt can apply for official mobile phones with a demand-oriented contract from the framework contract of the state of Hesse via HRZ.

Our IT-Shop team are IT hardware specialists at TU Darmstadt. With them you can buy complete computer equipment as well as suitable accessories.

HRZ offers software licenses for your workstation or server. We have concluded contracts with manufacturers for a large number of software products, so that TU employees benefit from volume discounts. Some of these licenses are also available for students.

Printing and scanning
Printers are located at the printing centre at Stadtmitte and at the PC pools of HRZ. There you can print in different paper formats from DIN A4 to DIN A0 in black/white and colour.

IT workplace management
With IT Workplace Management service, HRZ offers departments, dean's offices and central TU facilities the possibility of setting up IT workplaces in a Windows environment. We are in charge of procurement, installation and operation of workstations, PC pools and printers for you.

Windows Client-Management
The Windows Client Management for Admins service enables you to standardize and manage IT workstations in a Windows environment for employees of your institution. The infrastructure provided by HRZ enables your IT staff, as a local administrator, to independently and efficiently manage and maintain the devices and corresponding resources of your users.

If you cannot make progress with an IT problem yourself and your IT workplace equipment is not supported within the framework of IT workplace management, a student assistant at HRZ can help you solve the problem directly on site. Thus support extends to workstations, printers, laptops and mobile devices.

Three publicly accessible PC pool rooms are available to all TU Darmstadt students. After registering with your TU-ID at one of the workstations, you can access the Internet, call up e-mails, work with various software, print and scan.
