Migration from Zoom to Zoom X

No Zoom use possible in the night from 01.04. to 02.04.2023

The TU Darmstadt's Zoom account will be hosted in Telekom data centres in the future. The user interface and application will remain unchanged with Zoom X compared to Zoom.

Zoom X is provided by Deutsche Telekom GmbH in cooperation with Zoom Video Communications Inc. and offers the same user interface and application as Zoom, but is hosted on servers in Germany.

After lengthy preparations, Telekom is now migrating the “Zoom Account of TU Darmstadt” from the European Zoom Cloud to the Deutsche Telekom Cloud at short notice.

The migration will take place in the night from Saturday, 01.04.2023 to Sunday, 02.04.2023.

You should note that:

  • Zoom cannot be used for the duration of the migration.
  • The migration will take place automatically. You do not need to do anything else.
  • After the move, Zoom X will continue to be available with the usual Zoom functionalities and in the familiar view.
  • If you would like to participate in a Zoom meeting by telephone in the future, you will need new Telekom dial-in numbers for Zoom X. The new dial-in numbers can be obtained after the changeover. After the move, the new dial-in numbers can be displayed as part of the meeting information and sent to the participants.
