Successful external assessment

Top rating for the Active Directory infrastructure at TU Darmstadt

2025/01/02

The Active Directory infrastructure has been audited by external experts – with excellent results.

At TU Darmstadt, Active Directory (AD) is used as a directory service to manage users, computers and other resources in the Windows environment. Unreliable system functionality can compromise server stability. In addition, insecure configurations offer cybercriminals opportunities for attack.

To ensure security and prevent potential risks, the University Computing Centre (HRZ) has commissioned an external audit of the AD infrastructure.

The testers concluded that the analyzed structure is a well-maintained, structured, and tidy directory service. Typical failures were not observed. Overall, the condition was described as very good, with no functional limitations identified.

The successful audit confirms the security and stability of the AD infrastructure and is therefore good news for the HRZ and all users.
