Dr Johannes Braun brings extensive expertise with him: He studied Business Informatics at TU Darmstadt, completed his doctorate in 2015 on ‘Maintaining Security and Trust in Large Scale Public Key Infrastructures’ and was Managing Director of the Collaborative Research Centre 1119 CROSSING. Since July 2021, he has also been Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Head of Information Security (InfoSec) at TU Darmstadt. With his deep understanding of the university's needs in research, teaching and administration, he will provide new impetus and drive the further development of the HRZ.

Johannes Braun will be actively supported by the existing HRZ management team which will continue to contribute its extensive expertise and experience to continue the successful work of the recent years. Together with all employees, who are characterised by their commitment and expertise, the HRZ will act as a strong team to master the digital challenges facing the university.

With this change in leadership, the HRZ is embarking on an exciting year 2025, in which it will provide innovative and forward-looking IT solutions as a central and reliable partner to the university.

Dr Johannes Braun succeeds Dipl.-Kffr. Anna Schindler, who has been acting head of the HRZ for the past three years. Professor Dr Peter Pelz, Vice President for Digitalisation, Sustainability and Infrastructure, paid tribute to Mrs Schindler's exceptional commitment to the HRZ and expressed his sincere thanks to her. At the same time, he wishes Dr Braun every success in his new role.
