Great start to apprenticeships in 2025
The university computing centre welcomes eleven new trainees
2025/08/15
On 11.08.2025, eleven young people began their apprenticeships in the IT training network. Seven of them are training to become IT specialists for system integration, two to become IT specialists for application development. In addition, there is a prospective IT systems electronics technician and a trainee for digitalisation management.

First, the trainees started working alongside their trainers at their respective training locations.
During several introductory days, organised and conducted by the IT training coordination team, the eleven junior staff members got to know TU Darmstadt and the University Computing Centre (HRZ).
In a relaxed atmosphere, the head of the University Computer Centre opened the training year with a personal welcome. The trainees were given an overview of the dual training organisation and practised, among other things, how to maintain their training records correctly. During a team-building event, they got to know one another better and developed shared rules for successful collaboration. At the end of the week, they presented their new insights to their trainers.
The young people chose to train in IT professions in a university environment because it offers numerous advantages for an exciting and successful training programme: proximity to science and research, the diverse technical orientations of the training areas, and the comprehensive services provided by the IT training coordination team throughout the entire training period.
Welcome to the team: The HRZ and IT training coordination welcome the new trainees!
