The German National Research and Education Network (DFN (opens in new tab)) informs that the certificate provider Sectigo, which was selected by GÉANT (opens in new tab) through a tendering process, has cancelled the contract. The service is therefore only available until 10.01.2025. After this date, certificates can no longer be created via Sectigo. GÉANT is working hard to find a solution.

Due to the currently unclear situation, we recommend renewing server and user certificates until end of 2024. This applies in particular to business-critical certificates or certificates that are due to expire soon.
