New licence agreement for DeepL Pro Advanced + DeepL Write Pro

Translation software DeepL usable by subscription from 01.02.2025

The University Computing Centre (HRZ) has concluded a subscription for the translation software DeepL for a term of 12 months from 01.02.2025.

The licence package DeepL Pro Advanced + DeepL Write Pro can now be purchased via HRZ Software Management.

With the centrally concluded subscription for a larger number of licences, a volume discount of more than 50% could be achieved with the manufacturer.

Employees of TU Darmstadt who have already taken out their own subscription for DeepL with the manufacturer have the option of switching to the centralised subscription. Information on this can be obtained from HRZ Software Management:

Note about the free DeepL version

It is still possible to translate texts with the manufacturer's free DeepL version. Please note, however, that no texts containing personal data may be processed with the free version (see privacy policy DeepL, section 3).

In the Pro versions, texts from DeepL are generally not saved and not used further. In addition, TU Darmstadt has concluded an order processing contract with the manufacturer DeepL SE in accordance with Art. 28 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
