HRZ and IT admins in dialogue
Central matrix space creates room for conversation

The University Computing Centre (HRZ) is now providing IT administrators with a central platform for up-to-date information, seamless exchange and direct communication – internally, securely, and efficiently.
With Matrix, the HRZ relies on a modern, privacy-conscious chat platform. In the newly established space “IT-Info & Austausch (powered by HRZ)”, IT administrators and IT security officers can find centralised information about incidents, planned changes, and new services. The platform also provides an area for informal communication and short questions to the HRZ.
The space is organized into several topic-specific rooms, such as
- [A] Info (HRZ) → central announcements and news
- [A] Zentrale IT-Störungsinfos (HRZ) → information on unplanned disruptions, service interruptions and outages
- [A] Updates und Upgrades (HRZ) → planned maintenance and system changes
- [A] Kurz gefragt / Info an das HRZ → channel for direct questions to the HRZ
- [A] Kaffeeküche (TUDa IT) → informal communication among IT admins
Note that room names are provided in German, as this reflects the primary language used within the platform.
The space also includes project- or topic-specific subspaces.
All individuals responsible for the operation of IT systems at TU Darmstadt who are listed in cisOS as an administrator, or IT security officer are automatically added to the space.
