The planning for the application-neutral communication networks in the buildings of TU Darmstadt is based on the AMEV recommendations in the currently valid version (as of December 2023: ). These are supplemented and detailed in an appendix. LAN 2021 and 1st supplement AMEV LAN 2021

HRZ employees support the planning process and the acceptance of projects as expert consultants.
In the area of communication networks, the HRZ plans, procures and installs the active components and puts them into operation.
In the area of media technology, the HRZ generally supports the planners in this work. By agreement, the HRZ can also take on the role of specialist planner.
After completion, the data and telephone network as well as media technology in the central rooms (lecture theatres, central meeting rooms) are transferred to the operational responsibility of the HRZ.
Department support
For smaller cabling measures, the HRZ supports the planning and coordination with the framework contractor. A survey is carried out during joint inspections. The framework contract company then prepares an offer on the basis of the framework contract put out to tender by directorate V.
