Backup Service
Protect yourself from data loss!

The HRZ offers you a professional backup system for backing up your own data. When using the system, you retain complete control and responsibility over the data to be backed up and the recovery processes.

User groups

The service can be ordered by all organisational units of TU Darmstadt. All associated employees, except student assistants, can then use the backup service.

Main functions of TSM client software

Your data will be additionally secured by a second copy in Frankfurt.

Disaster recovery is in principle possible. However, this causes additional costs. Please contact directly if required.

To use the service you need to install the required backup software (TSM client) on your computer. The operating systems AIX, Solaris, HP-UX, Windows, Linux, Netware and Mac OS are supported.

Price list

To use the HRZ backup service, you first have to register your computer for this service (node request). The node will usually be added within one working day. You will be informed by e-mail.

To register, you need your activated TU-ID and the cost unit of the department or institute that is charged with the costs for using the service.
