Athena Mail
Reach a large number of people with just one e-mail!

The “Athena Mail (before Mass mailer)” service enables you to create an e-mail in your preferred mail program and send it to a large number of recipients. The recipient lists can be created by yourself or read out comfortably from our IDM via preconfigured queries.

User groups

All departments, institutions, university administration, university groups and student body of TU Darmstadt can order the service.

Service characteristics

The service offers...

  • sending e-mails to a large number of people.
  • managing lists of recipients for this purpose or using preconfigured queries from IDM (via LDAP).
  • layout and formatting of messages in your preferred local e-mail program.
  • encrypted data transmission between terminals and the central storage system.
  • data security through access restrictions.

To use the “Athena Mail” service, you need an e-mail client (e.g. Outlook) and a current browser version.

The terms of use (in German) (opens in new tab) describe and regulate the concrete use of the service.

The service is free of charge.

Send an e-mail to and give us the TU-IDs (at least one TU-ID) of those persons who should have access to your Athena Mail instance. You will be notified as soon as the Athena Mail has been set up for you.
