The login server is based on Shibboleth Identity Provider software, version 5. Details on its capabilities and configuration can be found in the Shibboleth documentation.
Supported protocols
The login server at TU Darmstadt supports the SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect and CAS protocols. For the CAS 3.0 protocol, there is also the option of retrieving attributes via SAML 1.1.
The login server can only be accessed via HTTPS at https://login.tu-darmstadt.de. A publicly recognised certificate issued by DFN-PKI is used for HTTPS communication.
