Setting the e-mail format

Outlook

Outgoing e-mails should be sent as HTML or plain text, never as “Rich Text”. The “Rich Text” format causes the actual message text and any attachments to be packed into an attachment called “winmail.dat”, which cannot be displayed by other e-mail programmes.

Step 1

  • Open the “Options” under “Datei” (“File”).

Step 2

  • Select the category “E-mail” in the options.
  • In the “Nachrichten verfassen” section, “Nachrichten in diesem Format verfassen” should show “HTML” or “Nur-Text”.
