Use of the public network sockets for your connection to the Internet via cable

The LAN access via IEEE 802.1X enables a wired connection of your LAN-compatible terminal device.

Public network sockets can be found, for example, in the University and State Library (Building S1|20) and in lecture halls.

How can I use the network sockets?

For connecting you need

  • a standard network cable.
  • to get access to the IEEE802.1X network you need to use your WLAN Account data for registration – not the common TU-ID process.

Additional software is not required. You only need to make a few settings in your operating system.
