IEEE 802.1X

Use of the public network sockets for your connection to the Internet via cable

The LAN access via IEEE 802.1X enables a wired connection of your LAN-compatible terminal device.

Public network sockets can be found, for example, in the University and State Library (Building S1|20) and in lecture halls.

How can I use the network sockets?

For connecting you need

  • a standard network cable (available at the HRZ Service Centre for two euros).
  • your TU-ID and password for registration.

Additional software is not required. You only need to make a few settings in your operating system.
