Inviting individuals to the next.Hessenbox

You can invite internal users, external persons, or guests to your folders in next.Hessenbox.

First step

  • In the web interface (https://next.hessenbox.de), navigate to the desired folder.
  • Then, click on the share icon in the folder line (see Image 1).

Enter the email address or name of the person registered at TU Darmstadt.

Select the correct email address from the suggestions.

Enter the email address of the external person. They must have been invited as a guest beforehand. The person will receive an invitation by email to log in to next.Hessenbox.

Step 2

You can also create a public link (Image 2, marked in purple). People who have this link can then access your shared folders.

After creating the link, you can change the user rights (as shown in Image 3).

Select the permissions for your guest (create, edit, delete, etc., as shown in Image 2).

The invited person will receive an email with a link to create an account and access the folder.

  • Important: Guests do not have their own storage space and use the owner's quota.

What are the limitations for projects?

Maximum size of editable material per project Default: 7 MB.
Maximum size of an individual editable text file 2 MB.
Note: Larger files may remain editable under certain circumstances. To ensure editability, limit the size to 2 MB or less.
Maximum size of an individual upload 50 MB.
Maximum size of project Unlimited.
Note:There is no fixed upper limit, but technical limitations may occur with very large projects. We recommend a maximum size of 500 MB, or less than 100 MB when using Git integration, for the best user experience.
Maximum Number of Projects Unlimited.
