The reorganisation of the University Computing Centre (HRZ), which has been conceptually prepared, developed by the project team and tested in a pilot area over the past few months, will enter the implementation phase at the beginning of the new year. The existing service and communication channels will remain unchanged for the time being.

+++Update, 15 January 2026: Power outage does not affect groupware service servers, system time not necessary+++ During the specified period the Groupware service will be limited due to maintenance of the power supply for a HRZ server room. Only half of the servers for the Groupware service will be available, which may lead to performance limitations.

Der Sharelatex Service ist seit Donnerstag dem 8.1.2026 um 17:00 Uhr nicht erreichbar. Wir arbeiten an einer Lösung des Problems. Es handelt sich nicht um eine reguläre Wartung.

Seit dem 12.01.2026 ca. 12 Uhr hat das Ticketsystem des HRZ keine Störungsmeldungen und Serviceanforderungen etc. mehr angenommen. Die betrifft sowohl Eingaben in die Webformulare des HRZ wie auch direkte Sendungen an die Support-E-Mail-Adressen. Nach jetzigem Erkenntnisstand sind die Anfragen jedoch nicht verloren, sondern können bearbeitet werden, sobald die Störung behoben ist.

Between 5 and 6 January 2026

Due to an error in the IDM system, emails with the subject line ‘[IDM] The grace period ends’ were accidentally sent between Monday, 5 January 2026, 6 January 2026, 12:00 p.m., emails with the subject line ‘[IDM] Your grace period ends today’ were accidentally sent. The information contained in these emails is not correct. No action is required on the part of those affected.

On 09.01.2026 between 02.00 p.m. and 07.00 p.m.

SharePoint is unavailable during the specified period due to maintenance work.

On 07.01.2026 between 8.00 a.m. and 11.00 a.m.

+++ Update 07.01.2026 01:04 p.m.: The maintenance work has been successfully completed. +++ During the specified period maintenance work will be carried out. Due to the redundant design of the system no impact on users is expected.

VPN required for external access

Access to the mailing list administration will be possible from 20.01.2026 only within the internal network of TU Darmstadt or via a VPN connection. General user access remains unchanged.

On 09.01.2026 from 1.00 p.m.

During the specified period the SAP systems Accounting, Fiori Portal and Data Warehouse of TU Darmstadt will not be available. This also affects access to account statements, the e-invoice EVER and the ordering system HELF.

On 14.01.2026 between 8.00 a.m. and 2.00 p.m.

+++ Update 14.01.2026 01:45 p.m.: The maintenance work has been successfully completed. +++ During the specified period there may be a brief outage of the IDM portal. Due to the redundant design of the system no further impact on users is expected.

On 12.01.2026 between 8.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m.

During the specified period the Matrix chat will not be available due to the migration to new servers as part of the takeover of operations by the HRZ.

Off-campus access will require a VPN connection

As part of the implementation of mandatory two-factor authentication (2FA), access to the HRZ Media Portal will be adjusted. From 31.12.2025, the Media Portal will only be accessible from within the TU Darmstadt internal network. Access from outside the network will require a VPN connection.

On 16.12.2025 between 08.00 a.m. and 11.00 a.m.

+++ Update 16.12.2025 11:00 a.m.: The maintenance work has been successfully completed. +++ During the specified period, maintenance will be carried out on the IDM portal, which will result in a brief interruption to the IDM portal service. Due to the redundant design of the system, no further effects are expected for users.

On 29.12.2025 between 9.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m.

During the specified period, the TSM Backup Service will be suspended due to a software error in order to perform a necessary action in DB2. The service will therefore be unavailable.

On 15.12.2025 between 6.00 p.m. and 10.00 p.m.

During the specified period certificates will be renewed on the central components of the Cisco CallManager environment. Short interruptions or reauthentication may occur for Jabber softphones. Cisco phones will restart several times. The Alcatel telephony service will not be affected.

On 16.12.2025 between 7.00 a.m. and 8.00 a.m.

+++ Update 16.12.2025 08:10 a.m.: The maintenance work has been successfully completed. +++ During the specified period a minor update to the latest Moodle version will be carried out. The Moodle systems will be unavailable, and login to Mahara and Panopto will not be possible.
