Due to an error in the IDM system, emails with the subject line ‘[IDM] The grace period ends’ were accidentally sent between Monday, 5 January 2026, 6 January 2026, 12:00 p.m., emails with the subject line ‘[IDM] Your grace period ends today’ were accidentally sent. The information contained in these emails is not correct. No action is required on the part of those affected.

On 09.01.2026 from 1.00 p.m.

During the specified period the SAP systems Accounting, Fiori Portal and Data Warehouse of TU Darmstadt will not be available. This also affects access to account statements, the e-invoice EVER and the ordering system HELF.

Off-campus access will require a VPN connection

As part of the implementation of mandatory two-factor authentication (2FA), access to the HRZ Media Portal will be adjusted. From 31.12.2025, the Media Portal will only be accessible from within the TU Darmstadt internal network. Access from outside the network will require a VPN connection.

On 16.12.2025 between 08.00 a.m. and 11.00 a.m.

+++ Update 16.12.2025 11:00 a.m.: The maintenance work has been successfully completed. +++ During the specified period, maintenance will be carried out on the IDM portal, which will result in a brief interruption to the IDM portal service. Due to the redundant design of the system, no further effects are expected for users.

On 29.12.2025 between 9.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m.

During the specified period, the TSM Backup Service will be suspended due to a software error in order to perform a necessary action in DB2. The service will therefore be unavailable.

On 15.12.2025 between 6.00 p.m. and 10.00 p.m.

During the specified period certificates will be renewed on the central components of the Cisco CallManager environment. Short interruptions or reauthentication may occur for Jabber softphones. Cisco phones will restart several times. The Alcatel telephony service will not be affected.

On 16.12.2025 between 7.00 a.m. and 8.00 a.m.

+++ Update 16.12.2025 08:10 a.m.: The maintenance work has been successfully completed. +++ During the specified period a minor update to the latest Moodle version will be carried out. The Moodle systems will be unavailable, and login to Mahara and Panopto will not be possible.

The university computing centre will have limited availability during the Christmas season and New Year, which may result in delays in processing requests.

During the specified period, certificates will be updated on the central components of the Cisco CallManager environment. Therefore, there may be a brief outage or a need to re-register with Jabber softphones. Cisco and Alcatel telephony are not expected to be affected.

The TUDa app now offers its own module for generating one-time passwords for two-factor authentication.

During the specified period the software will be updated to version 5.3.9. In addition, server maintenance will take place. Service interruptions may occur.

Trainees from TU Darmstadt in Portugal as part of Erasmus+

Four IT trainees from Darmstadt, including one trainee from TU Darmstadt, took part in a three-week stay abroad in Portugal within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme. The aim of the programme is to promote exchange between European partner countries and to gain practical insights into the international IT working environment. The group was accompanied for five days by five teachers and two supervisors, including a representative of TU Darmstadt’s University Computing Centre.

Note on the entry “eduroam registered” (eduroam®)

In Windows, when connecting to wireless networks, you may see both “eduroam” and “eduroam®”. This may appear suspicious at first glance, but it is harmless if you have previously used an older version of the “eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool (CAT)” for automatic Wi-Fi configuration.
