Instructions for setting up your Linux letterbox in an e-mail program

Adaptation of the basic configuration when using the IMAP protocol

To ensure that your e-mailing runs as smoothly as possible under IMAP, you should make specific adjustments to the basis configuration in your e-mail program.

Please use a locally installed e-mail programme to send and receive e-mails via your TU address. Never store your access data (TU-ID and password) with other providers (e.g. google or gmx) in order to access your TU letterbox via them. Passing on your access data to the provider violates the IT Security Guideline of TU Darmstadt .

Note for employees of TU Darmstadt

If you have problems with your Linux account, please contact your local administrator.
